Rising senior Garrett Brown of La Costa Canyon High in California set the all-time San Diego Section record with a second-attempt clearance at 16-10.75 (5.15m) to place second in the boys high school section at the Vaulter Club Vaulter Magazine National Championships at the Big Red Barn in Sun City, Calif. Brown eclipsed the 2005 mark of 16-8 (5.08m) established by Derek Scott of Oceanside High in El Camino, elevating to the No. 5 junior in California history. Brown needed third-attempt clearances at 16-2.75 (4.95m) and 16-6.75 (5.05m) to remain in the competition. More videos |
